Homemade Mayo and a Website Makeover

Notice some changes around here? I've been working on revamping our website. It still needs quite a bit of work but hopefully it's now more ascetically pleasing and user friendly. If you have any questions for us we now have a contact us link. Also feel free to check out my photography and the Rabbit Ridge Farm Pinterest. Please note that while I do own the photography Rabbit Ridge Farm doesn't own the photos and links on our Pinterest account unless stated otherwise.

Now on to the good stuff, homemade mayonnaise! It's creamy and deliciously cruelty free. This recipe was adapted from All Recipes and uses whole eggs instead of just the whites. Here's what you need:

3 small/medium farm fresh eggs
2 1/4 cups of oil (vegetable or olive oil will do)
1/4 - 1/2 tsp of salt to taste
1/4 tsp of dry mustard
2 TBS of white vinegar
1 tsp of lemon juice

Thoroughly mix everything except the oil and then begin slowly adding the oil a little at a time. It's probably easiest to do this in a blender or food processor but I just used an old egg beater.

Easy right? Making your own mayonnaise with eggs from a local farmer *cough* *cough* or your own chickens is a great way to stop supporting awful things like this:

If looking at that is hard for you consider that is not one of the worst photos I've seen of the egg industry. So please buy eggs from places where chickens have room to run and don't have their lives cut short by about 8 years because they're no longer "useful."

Phoebe, Thelma, and Louise are my friends and will hopefully continue to be apart of my life for the next 9 years or so.
